BANDO DUCALE OF THE 1716

This is the reproduction of the 1716 Bando Granducale, which is the first Law in the world created in favour of protecting high-quality viticultural zones (Chianti- Carmignano) and the sale transportable wines.

The Declaration is composed of two pages: in the first the geographical limits relative to the production zones are identified, in the second page the regulations for the production and the making of transportable wines are enumerated. Our three Estates are all situated in great historical areas with high oenological culture in production and sale, including exportation. Since 1990 we have decided to concentrate primarily on a high-level of quality and a careful commercial valorisation. In order to ascertain this constant growth towards quality and character of the wines, we have acquired vineyards in various zones and established new vineyards using selected clones of indigenous vines and are establishing new ones whose adaptability to particular micro-climates and soil-types in our zones yield wines of high character and quality with plants per hectare reduced voluntarily. We are completing the expansion of the wine-cellars in view of the needs of qualitative wine-making and aging in barrels and barriques, in order to adequately service the production of newly acquired and established vineyards, and consequently the increase in quantity.
